Asia Cup postponed at India's request

The six-nation Asia Cup due to take place in Pakistan in February has been postponed after India complained that their players faced a gruelling schedule.

The Pakistan Cricket Board agreed to requests from new Indian board chief Sharad Pawar who pointed out that the tournament was sandwiched in between major series against Pakistan and England and that it would allow India's players no time to rest.

"Our players felt they needed some rest because of the back-to-back itinerary," BCCI executive secretary Ratnakar Shetty told reporters.
