The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) have announced that the Asia Cup will be held in Pakistan in September 2007. The tournament was originally scheduled to be held next month but was put off, at India's request, to enable their players to rest between two important series against Pakistan and England.
India begin a seven-week tour of Pakistan on Thursday and return in mid-February to take on England at home. Defending champions Sri Lanka will take on India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the United Arab Emirates and Oman when the Asia Cup does finally take place.
ACC president Sharad Pawar said the dates and venues of the tournament would be decided later in consultation with the Pakistan Cricket Board.
