Scorecard
Shaun Tait finished with five wickets to become South Australia's most prolific bowler in a season and ensured Tasmania finished last in the Pura Cup. The Redbacks' nine-wicket victory pushed them to fifth place while Tait's 5 for 71 lifted him past Clarrie Grimmett's 1939-40 record of 63 first-class wickets for the state in a domestic season. An Ashes tour is the next goal for Tait after his 65 victims.
The tally of Dan Cullen, the offspinner, settled on 43 with 4 for 65 as Tasmania, who began the day at 3 for 35, were dismissed for 168. Michael Bevan made 44, taking his record-breaking Pura Cup season to 1464 at 97.6, as the Tigers fell to 9 for 117 before Damien Wright (42) joined in a 51-run stand with Brett Geeves.
Shane Deitz, the man of the match for his first-innings 141, was the one casualty as South Australia earned their second outright victory in their final two matches.
