Jodie Purves led the way with an unbeaten 61 as Queensland Fire successfully chased down the New South Wales Breakers' total of 154 in 45.1 overs and evened the best-of-three finals 1-1 at the North Sydney Oval.

Reduced to 6 for 70 following early breakthroughs from Emma Liddle, Sarah Andrews (1 for 32) and Julie Hayes (1 for 24), Queensland needed a controlling hand to guide them home, and Purves provided just that. Shepherding the tail, Purves found an able ally in Megan White (20*) and the two added 48 for the eighth wicket to see Queensland home with close to five overs remaining.

Earlier, Lisa Sthalekar's 53 was the top score in the NSW innings after Jude Coleman picked up 5 for 26 to restrict them to just 154. The final match is at the same ground tommorrow.
