  • Matthew Hayden's excellent run against India continues. The 123 he scored on the fourth day was his fifth hundred in 13 Tests against them. It was also his 29th Test century, which puts him level with Don Bradman and Jacques Kallis in the list of highest century-makers in Tests. All 29 of his centuries have come at the top of the order; among openers, only Sunil Gavaskar, with 33, has more hundreds.
  • Anil Kumble became the first Indian bowler to take 100 wickets against a single opposition team when he had Phil Jaques caught in the deep. Kumble is the 12th bowler to take 100 wickets against Australia.
  • Harbhajan Singh continued his domination of Ricky Ponting, dismissing him for the eighth time in Tests. Ponting has only scored 58 runs off his bowling, which gives him an average of 7.25 against Harbhajan.
  • The 160-run stand between Matthew Hayden and Michael Hussey is the highest for the third wicket at the SCG for Australia against India. It was their second century partnership in 13 innings, and lifted the average partnership between the two to 69.50. (Click here for a list of their partnerships.)
  • Michael Clarke's first-ball duck is the first such dismissal by an Australian batsman against India in Sydney.
  • Australia's 288 for 2 against South Africa in 2006 is the highest winning score in the fourth innings at the SCG. The most runs scored here in the last innings is 411, by England way back in 1924.
