Noah Mann was engaged by MCC as a bowler for about 16 years and he frequently appeared in MCC matches, mainly at Lord's. In 1822 he umpired in one of the game's most controversial matches when John Willes was no-balled for bolwing round-arm and stormed out of cricket forever.
