Rajshahi Division v Dhaka Division, National Cricket League

Ashraful and Mahbubul Alam fined

Rabeed Imam

November 21, 2007

Dhaka Division captain Mohammad Ashraful has been fined 30% of his match fee by Match Referee ASM Raqibul Hasan while seamer Mahbubul Alam received a warning during the third day's play of the National Cricket League match against Rajshahi Division at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium on November 20.

Ashraful and Alam were involved in an incident in the Rajshahi second innings where they continued to appeal for a catch behind the wicket against batsman Farhad Reza. After the umpire withheld the appeal, Ashraful then requested the umpire to consult his partner about the decision.

Both players admitted their Code of Conduct breach at the Match Referee's hearing after the final day's play.
