Bravo takes it one step at a time

West Indies allrounder Dwayne Bravo has had his injured ankle assessed by team physio CJ Clark in Antigua as part of his rehabilitation process. Bravo underwent ankle surgery in New York in August after having carried the injury for two years, and has not played cricket since.

"I have to take it a step at a time. My ankle feels good so it's about strengthening it some more and getting back into competitive cricket," Bravo said. The injury has forced him to miss the Stanford Super Series, the one-day series against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi, the recent New Zealand tour and the start of the domestic season.

He also spent time with his West Indies team-mates, who are currently playing in the third Test against England at the Antigua Recreation Ground. "The guys welcomed me back with open arms. It is very nice to be among the team again and run out on the park."

Bravo aims to make his comeback to competitive cricket through his club side, Queen's Park, before graduating to playing for Trinidad in the first-class tournament.
