Mannofield and Cambusdoon are the two new grounds in Scotland which have been formally approved by the ICC to host one-day international matches, following an official visit by Chris Broad, the ICC Elite Panel match referee last month.

Mannofield is the home of Aberdeenshire Cricket Club, and will host the ICC Intercontinental Cup match between Scotland and Namibia this week. Cambusdoon, the home of Ayr Cricket Club, will host three ECC European Championship matches between three World Cup qualifiers - Scotland, Ireland and the Netherlands - in August. Both grounds will be carrying out further renovations and improvements in facilities soon.

Roddy Smith, Cricket Scotland's chief executive officer said: "We are very pleased at the ICC's approval for these grounds, as it was vital to have alternatives to the Citylets Grange ground available for our rapidly increasing international fixture commitments."

Richard Holdsworth, ICC Regional Development Manager for Europe, added: "As one of the leading Associate Members of the ICC, it is important that Scotland develops its ground facilities to match its ambitions.

"These approvals are a first step towards encouraging that progress, and we are look forwarding to enjoying the three European Championship matches in the sunny surroundings of Cambusdoon later this year."

The Grange Cricket Club ground in Edinburgh hosted two World Cup matches in 1999 and is the only other ground in Scotland to host official ODIs.
