Profile
Robin Bailhache was one of Australia's leading umpires for more than a decade, standing in 27 Tests and 27 ODIs between 1974-75 and 1988-89. He started young - he was 34 when he made his first-class debut - and within three years was on the Test circuit, standing in all six Ashes Tests in his debut year, all with Tom Brooks. Bailhache once said when umpiring he felt like a duck swimming: nice and quiet and tranquil on top, but underneath his legs were paddling like billy-o. He was elected a Life Member of the Victorian Cricket Association Umpires and Scorers' Association.
