In what could class as an upset, Oman completed a two-wicket win against previously unbeaten Namibia at the Centre for Cricket Development despite an unbeaten 158 from Gerrie Snyman. Vaibhav Wategaonkar was the hero with an unbeaten 114 as Oman survived a late attack of nerves, falling from 200 for 3 to 263 for 8. Their chase began in explosive fashion with Hemin Desai hammering 82 off 35 balls, contributing all bar two runs to the opening stand. It was a memorable game all round, as Snyman led an assault on the Oman bowling, striking 13 fours and seven sixes in his 114-ball innings. But it was to prove in vein.

UAE overwhelmed Argentina by 304 runs at the Wanderers ground with centuries from Arshad Ali (139) and Amjad Javed (109) putting them on course for a mammoth 412 for 4. Ali and Mohammad Iqbal opened with 141 before Ali added a further 172 with Javed. Argentina folded in reply, with only three players reaching double figures. For good measure Ali took 3 for 8 to add to his century while the other wickets were shared around.

Denmark came out 21-run winners in a closer match against Uganda at the United ground. Freddie Klokker (65) and Carsten Pedersen (63) formed the backbone of their 234 for 5, but the real fireworks came from Lars Hedegaard, who slammed 46 off 19 balls in the closing overs. That onslaught took the game out of Uganda's reach as they couldn't form a match-winning partnership. Ajay Chawla took out the middle order with four wickets, but the most noteworthy moment came when Arthur Kyobe was given out obstructing the field.
