South Africa's selectors have named a side with a blend of experience and youth to take on Bangladesh in their two-day warm-up to next month's tour.
The South Africa XI will be led by Wendell Bossenger, the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman, who was also in charge when the same team took on the visiting Sri Lanka A team in August. The side also includes three players - Mthokozisi Shezi, Dane Vilas and David Wiese - who all graduated from this year's intake of the national academy and are former Under-19 players.
"The team consists of a mixture of players who played in a similar fixture against Sri Lanka in August this year, together with others who have returned from the United Kingdom during the off-season along with those who were under the national academy programme," said Anton Ferreira, the head selector of the amateur selection panel. "We are confident that this team will be able to carry itself well against Bangladesh."
Bangladesh are scheduled to play three ODIs and two Tests, preceded by a Twenty20 which gets underway on November 5.
