Lance Klusener reduced the Dolphins's pain in Bloemfontein with a return of 6 for 122 when the Eagles eventually declared on 541 for 9. The Eagles's record 361-run third-wicket partnership was broken in the first over of the day when Ryan Bailey was caught behind for a career-best 148. Davey Jacobs followed soon afterwards for his career-best, 218 made in seven and a half hours. Morne van Wyk, with 66, and Cliff Deacon, with 54, helped push the Eagles to more than 500 when the declaration came.

The pitch remained easy to bat on, and the Dolphins opened with a 71-run partnership between Doug Watson and Imraan Khan before Watson played around the legspin of Jacob Malao to be bowled for 26. Khan followed for a well-played 67, before he was caught off the bowling of Deacon. At stumps the Dolphins had moved to 175 for 2 with Wade Wingfield on 55 and Ashraf Mall on 21.

For the second time in two days the weather in Centurion brought an early end to proceedings with the Titans only 11 runs behind on first innings.

The Warriors had capitulated at the start of the second day by losing five wickets for the addition of 46 runs as Andre Nel ran through the tail in taking 4 for 56.

The Titans's reply started weakly, and were 34 for 2 at one stage. But Martin van Jaarsveld and Zander de Bruyn revived the innings and took the score to 121 when van Jaarsveld was caught behind. Nantie Hayward then slid through the defences of de Bruyn, who looked set for his hundred, only to see his stumps demolished five short. Justin Kemp made 39 before he gave Hayward his third wicket, and it was left to Godfrey Toyana and Albie Morkel to see out the day before bad light brought an early finish with the Titans in a good position at 267 for 5.

In Paarl rain and a wet outfield delayed the start until after lunch. When play did get underway, the Lions batted on to end on 362. HD Ackerman was eventually out for an excellent 180.

With 32 overs lost because of the delay Western Province Boland started cautiously, but any worries were unfounded - the new opening pair of Derrin Bassage and Gerhard Strydom put on 105. A double blow from Derek Crookes had both of them out - Bassage edged a sweep on 61 and Strydom cut straight to point for 43. When stumps were drawn Western Province Boland had moved to 127 for 2. An early start is scheduled for tomorrow.
