Gerald Dros' testimonial year Pro 20 testimonial for Dros September 4, 2006 Gerald Dros will celebrate ten years with the Titans with a Pro 20 testimonial match at Centurion on Wednesday, 20 September. The Titans will take on the Highveld Lions in a match which will also mark the start of Titans; 2006-07 campaign. The chief executive of Eastern Titans, Elise Lombard, paid tribute to 33-year-old Dros, saying: "This is definitely something that the board wholeheartedly. Gerald has been a true ambassador to the game." Dros made his debut in 1993 after representing South African Schoolboys the previous year. He went on to captain the South African A team on their West Indies tour in 2001, and has also led South Africa in the Hong Kong International Cricket Sixes. He has also played for Ireland as their overseas professional for three years from 2000, and helped them to beat Surrey - one of the biggest wins in Irish history. He also helped to build Northerns from a small union in 1993, to one of the most envied and respected unions in the country. © Cricinfo
