Two-match bans for each after breaching conduct rules

Langeveldt and Sodumo found guilty

Charl Langevelt, the South African fast bowler, and Abongile Sodumo, the Warriors wicketkeeper, have been found guilty of breaching Cricket South Africa's Rules and Code of Conduct. The duo were reported to have breached rules at separate occurrences during recent domestic matches, and appeared before a disciplinary hearing under advocate Michael Kuper in Johannesburg.

Langevelt was charged and found guilty of breaking the rules during a confrontation in a SuperSport Series match between the Lions and Cape Cobras in December. He has been suspended from the next two games against the Dolphins and Warriors.

Sodumo too was handed a two-match ban following an incident that arose during the SAA three-day match between Border and Eastern Province at East London. Sodumo also gave notice that he waived his right to appeal.

Langevelt, 32, was recently included in South Africa's squad for five one-day matches against Pakistan, which is believed to be the likely World Cup line-up.

Meanwhile, left-handed batsman Arno Jacobs takes over as the Warriors' captain. With HD Ackerman keen to concentrate on his batting and not burden himself with captaincy, and with Zander de Bruyn injured, Jacobs will lead the side against the Titans in a four-day SuperSport match at St George's in Port Elizabeth starting Thursday. Opening batsman Colin Ingram and top-order batsman Burton de Wett return to the squad. Allrounder Robin Peterson is unavailable due to international commitments.
