Don Arnott was Rhodesia's regular wicketkeeper for almost a decade from the mid 1950s. Not the best batsman, towards the end of his career he was promoted to the No.3 slot and he responded with his only first-class fifty at the start of his final season. For a period in the 1980s he was an umpire and he acted as a match referee in the 2002 Under-19 World Cup. He was also a leading administrator and was the Zimbabwe board's first chief executive when the country gained Test status.
