At Canberra, November 10, 2006. Australian Prime Minister's XI won by 166 runs. Toss: England XI. Australian Prime Minister's XI 347-5 (50 overs) (P. A. Jaques 112, S. E. Marsh 78*); England XI 181 (38.4 overs) (A. J. Strauss 67). Ashley Giles made his first appearance since November 2005. Jaques hit 112 in 110 balls, and Marsh 78* off 56. Strauss hit his 67 off 67 balls, but the only other Englishmen to pass 13 were Paul Collingwood (35) and Sajid Mahmood (22). Shaun Tait picked up three wickets for 21: Trescothick (2), Strauss, and Flintoff (1).

Jaques hit his second hundred against the tourists in three days. While several England batsmen thrived on the second day against an attack featuring five Test bowlers, Marcus Trescothick suffered a breakdown after his dismissal and left for home next morning.

At Lilac Hill, Perth, December 8, 2006. Cricket Australia Chairman's XI won by seven wickets. Toss: ECB Chairman's XI. ECB Chairman's XI 259-8 (50 overs) (R. S. Bopara 53, A. J. Stewart 69); Cricket Australia Chairman's XI 260-3 (40.1 overs) (L. Ronchi 89, M. J. North 58*, A. C. Voges 71). Each side named 12 players, of whom 11 could bat and 11 field. This was not an official tour match, but was used by the England party to give a game to the players unused in the Adelaide Test. The ECB team also included members of the Academy squad and the retired trio of Alec Stewart, who captained, Robin Smith and Adam Hollioake. Liam Plunkett, in his first game of the tour, dislocated a finger of his right hand.

Cook 106, E. C. Joyce 73, C. M. W. Read 59*). Each side named 12 players, of whom 11 could bat and 11 field. Michael Vaughan was one of England's 12, the latest stage in his comeback from a long-term knee injury; he fielded, and even resumed the captaincy for a couple of overs when acting captain Strauss went off, but was not required to bat. After Strauss and Cook opened England's innings with a stand of 183, Geraint Jones fell for a first-ball duck, but he held on to his place for one more Test.
