Already without Shane Warne for the second Standard Bank one-day international against South Africa at SuperSport Park on Sunday, Australia will also be missing Michael Bevan and Ian Harvey.
Warne sits out his second game with a strained right hamstring while Bevan and Harvey picked up injuries in Friday's match at the Wanderers. Bevan has a slightly strained left hamstring while Harvey is suffering from a minor ligament injury in his right shoulder.
The absence of the three will provide offspinner Nathan Hauritz with his second ODI cap while Jimmy Maher and Shane Watson have also been included in a 12-man squad for the game.
South Africa's practice on Saturday did not take place because of a Highveld thunderstorm. The hosts have a 13-man squad with Neil McKenzie and Andrew Hall sitting out the Wanderers match and both might be given a run on Sunday, McKenzie on his home ground and Hall who could either open the batting or come in for spinning all-rounder Nicky Boje.
Australian squad: Ricky Ponting (captain), Adam Gilchrist (vice-captain), Matthew Hayden, Damien Martyn, Darren Lehmann, Jimmy Maher, Shane Watson, Andrew Bichel, Jason Gillespie, Nathan Hauritz, Glenn McGrath, Brett Lee.
