A direct hit from Erik running out SMP Ciomas's Deden and a full park invasion was on. SMP 12 players dancing, hugging, celebrating their victory over SMP Ciomas in the inaugural Rolls-Royce 20/20 SMP League for Bogor schools.
Earlier in the day a gallant SD Pondok Rumput team came up short against SD Tanah Sareal. Batting first SD Tanah Sareal finished with a health 118 for 9 off their allotted overs. Joko (18) getting the Tanah Sareal lads off to a solid start. Then 3 wickets from a sharp Reza pegging back TS's score rate. Ginanjar providing the umph in the tail with a BEST BATSMAN contribution of 19 not out. SD Pondok Rumput's batsmen finding scoring tough against a sharp, focused Tanah Sareal attack. With only wides getting to double figures SD Pondok Rumput finally rolled for 39 off just 8 overs. SD Tanah Sareal crowned the inaugural ROLLS-ROYCE 20/20 SD League Champions. Riski from SD Pondok Rumput claimed the Best Bowler award, Ginanjar from SD Tanah Sareal celebrating victory with the Best Batsman award and Maulana from SD Tanah Sareal catching and direct hitting his way to the Best Fielder award.
Prof. Dr James Tangkudung from the Ministry of Youth and Sport providing the opening address to the large 1,500 plus crowd. Pak Hasan from KONI Bogor also welcomed all to the days' festivities and Dr Taco Bottema added some words of Cricket Indonesia vision immediately prior to the SMP Grand Final.
SMP 12 winning the toss and deciding to bat. SMP Ciomas's league stars, Riza, Dendi, Novian and Angga getting the better of SMP 12's top order sending the top 4 back to their tent with less than 30 on the board. Erik (25), the only batsman to make a 50 during the league, taking control in the middle overs with some deft defense and power hitting, finally succumbing to Ibnu c&b with SMP 12's total at 90 for 8 off 16. Dendi keeping it tight in the closing stages and SMP 12 restricted to 118 for 8 off 20.
The standard of bowling and fielding a delight to watch for the 1,500 plus crowd of school children, KONI officials, dignitaries, expatriate well-wishers and Cricket Indonesia personnel.

SMP Ciomas's reply starting with purpose and calm. Opener, Angga, the pick of the batsman until a direct hit from Dedens stopped his progress and knobbled SMP Ciomas's chances of winning. Visnu, Akvin and Ruspi doing too much with the ball, superbly supported by a well oiled fielding machine, and SMP Ciomas's assault on 118 ended in over 15 with just 68 on the board. SMP 12A worthy winners.
Dendi from SMP Ciomas picking up the Best Bowler Award, Erik from SMP 12A winning the Best Batsman Award and Dead-eye-dick, Dedens, relishing victory with the Best Fielder Award.
Winners' trophies were presented by the stately, Mr Mike Gray, Managing Director, Rolls-Royce Indonesia.
In his closing speech, Dr Hasan from KONI, Bogor urged children graduating to another school next year to get their new school involved in cricket. Dr Hasan also delighted Cricket Indonesia officials and school children alike when he announced that the Mayor of Bogor would be sponsoring a schools' cricket tournament in 2008.
Many, many thanks for all the sponsors. To Mike Gray at Rolls-Royce for making this 20/20 league initiative possible. To Stan Lofthouse for the financial support from ThermATest. Huge thanks to Coca Cola and Arnotts for providing drinks and snack throughout the season. As well as thanks to Financial Pacific International for program printing and Chatterbox.
We also express a large debt of thanks to Goodyear and its management and in particular Pak Hadi for his tireless support in getting the ground ready for the Grand Final.
Last but not least congratulations to the Cricket Indonesia coaches, who umpired, scored, rolled, marked and most importantly coached the schools that played in the league and got the finalists to such a good standard. A standard not lost on the many expats who enjoyed the day.
Finally, a word of thanks to Will Symonds for taking photos and posting them immediately on his website. And Q TV thanks for coming out to film the day, we all look forward to the 30 minute highlights DVD.
