The International Cricket Council (ICC) today announced the appointment of Bron Madigan to the position of East Asia - Pacific (EAP) Regional Project Officer.

Mrs Madigan brings outstanding organisational and administrative skills as well as an ability to forge strong working relationships with people on a number of levels and cultures. Additional attributes include impressive verbal and non-verbal communication skills and a developed knowledge of the sporting industry and event administration.
Mrs Madigan will report to the ICC EAP Regional Development Manager, Matt Weisheit.
"We received an unbelievable response to this position and following a thorough and extensive recruitment process, I am thrilled that Bron has joined the East Asia - Pacific team." said Mr Weisheit.
"Bron exhibited a range of skills and working experiences that best complement the job requirements for this position. Having previously administered and organised many sport medical events in remote regions of Australia as well as supporting the administration, logistics, operations and delivery of the Basketball at the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games, including regional competition, Bron brings a valued set of skills to our operations.
Cricket activity in East Asia and the Pacific has grown significantly in recent years, and this role will greatly support the efficiency and effectiveness of the EAP office to continue providing quality programs and services to our 10 Member Countries. In addition, Bron brings an interest and passion for the game having played cricket at a local level" added Mr Weisheit.
Mrs Madigan said, "I am delighted to be joining the ICC Development Program. I have acquired experiences in the sporting industry and I see this as an exciting opportunity to broaden those skills. This is a challenging position with the varied environment of the East Asia - Pacific region but that is an aspect of the job I'm really looking forward to.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the M2006 Games working with many countries and making many friends, so the prospect of working in cricket, a sport I have a keen interest in, and helping develop the sport through our region and also developing my own skills is a great opportunity and I'm looking forward to getting started".
The 10 ICC member countries of the East Asia - Pacific region are PNG, Fiji Japan, Vanuatu, Cook Islands, Indonesia, South Korea, Tonga, Samoa and the Philippines. Over 33,000 participants are now actively involved in cricket activities within this region, compared to less than 13,000 in 2001.
