Day Three of ICC Six Nations Challenge - wins for Sri Lanka A, Canada and Kenya

Namibia v Canada

Another exciting match that went to the wire with Canada winning by two wickets. Some good wicket-keeping by Bagai kept Kotze and Keulder at bay, with no one scoring more than 31 runs (Walters). Thuraisingham took three for 37 off his 10 overs. Canada went into bat and reached a target of 171 for 8, although they were made to struggle by some great bowling by Louw, who took 3 for 8. In the end Canada scored the winning run off the last ball.

Zimbabwe v Sri Lanka A

At long last the first century of the tournament was scored by Trevor Gripper (103 off 129 balls). However it was not enough to match the total of 221 from the strong Sri Lankan side. Outstanding bowling performance by Herath (3 for 38) ensured that the Sri Lankans did not allow any significant partnerships to be formed. When Sri Lanka batted they were cruised to the target. The fifth wicket partnership between De Silva ( 89 off 112 balls ) and Samaraweera (76 off 79) steered Sri Lanka to a comfortable victory by four wickets, thus maintaining their unbeaten record in the tournament.

Kenya v Holland

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Kenya recorded three significant contributions. Obuya (57 off 69 balls), Odoyo (56 off 57) and Modi (76 off 79) all made sure that Kenya were able to post a total of 291 for 7. Although it was the highest innings of the tournament, Holland still put up a gutsy fight. But the experience of the Kenyans again shone through as they restricted Holland to 242 for 8. The only noteworthy innings was that of Zuiderent, who scored 58 off 78 balls
