Brad Hodge: could also work a petrol pump  •  Getty Images

First souvenir I took from a cricket field
It would have to be an autographed photo of Dennis Lillee. It was a nice thing. I went to the match with my mum and went outside and got it signed by Lillee.
First bat I broke
The first one I ever had a Greg Chappell Scoop, size four. I presume that would have broken somewhere along the line. My dad bought me the bat for Christmas, I think. I played many memorable innings with it, made two 99s before I got a hundred in the Under-12s.
First first-class hundred
It was against Tasmania in Hobart. I was batting with my idol Dean Jones, who was also batting on a hundred.
First job
I worked in a petrol station, pumping petrol. It was near my house in Melbourne, and I got $9 an hour. I was 15 maybe.
First car
It was a van, a Nissan Econo. Every Australian has a bad car as their first car. I was 18 when I got my first car.
