Jagmohan Dalmiya, the BCCI president, died on September 20, 2015, three days after being hospitalised following a cardiac arrest. Dalmiya, 75, played a pivotal role in recognising and unlocking cricket's commercial potential in India and around the world during a career that spanned 36 years. He headed the ICC between 1997 and 2000, and was serving his third term at the helm of the BCCI.
