†PAKISTAN v WEST INDIES 1988-89

At Sharjah, October 18

15-Apr-1990
At Sharjah, October 18. Pakistan won by 84 runs. Toss: West Indies. Inspired and exciting batting on a slow, grassless pitch took Pakistan to the highest total made in a Sharjah international, and Wasim Akram's devastating opening burst virtually ensured West Indies' second defeat in two days. Mudassar (100 balls, six fours) and Ramiz (84 balls) opened Pakistan's account with a century stand, and those following caught their mood. Miandad's 79 came from 68 balls, with three sixes and three fours, and Salim Malik hit a six and four fours in 42 from 37 balls. For West Indies, Greenidge marked his 100th one-day international by carrying his bat for his tenth century.
Man of the Match: Wasim Akram.
