Ramnaresh Sarwan will join Gloucestershire as their second overseas player. The West Indies batsman is due to arrive in England next week, along with Malinga Bandara who has been brought in to replace Upul Chandana. The Sri Lankan allrounder Chandana will leave the county ahead of the Test series against West Indies, which starts on Friday 15 July in Colombo.
Sarwan, 25, has been excluded from the West Indies squad for that series owing to the continuing contract disputes that have rumbled for months. However, this means that Gloucestershire will benefit from his services.
