Hong Kong defeated Fiji by 73 runs in a warm-up match, played under Twenty20 rules, for the ICC World Cricket League Division 4 tournament in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania.
Hong Kong scored 145-8 from their 20 overs with skipper leading the way with an unbeaten 75. He received support from Zain Abbas (21) and Butt Hussain (27), but five run-outs in the innings prevented Hong Kong from pushing towards a bigger total.
Fiji, who had lost to Jersey in an earlier match, had little to offer in reply as they managed only 72-8 from their 20 overs. Joji Bulabalavu top scored with 25 for Fiji while Irfan Ahmed and Munir Dar claimed two wickets apiece for Hong Kong.
Hong Kong had previously beaten the Tanzania Academy XI by 53 runs but a second scheduled match was washed out.
