The official tournament website for the 2005 East Asia - Pacific (EAP) Cricket Cup was launched today as teams begin arriving with only two days remaining before the first ball is bowled. The tournament will be held in Port Vila, Vanuatu from 23-29 September 2005 and is the region's major cricket event for the year.
This first-ever international cricket event to be staged in Vanuatu will see Cook Islands, Indonesia, Japan, Samoa, Tonga and the hosts Vanuatu battle it out for honours over seven action-packed days.
The website can be found by logging onto the ICC East Asia - Pacific website at www.icc-eap-cricket.com and following the lead story to the site. The site will be updated at least twice per day during the tournament and will be the one stop shop for all of the tournament's news, scores, results, photos, individual player performances and competition ladders.
"The dedicated site will carry all of the current information and statistics for the tournament" reports EAP Development Officer Martin Gleeson "Results will be updated at regular intervals and our cricket supporters throughout the region and afar will be able to keep a close eye on proceedings as the tournament progresses."
The EAP Cricket Cup commences with Round 1 on Friday 23 September and concludes with the finals to be played on Thursday 29 September.
