Sri Lankan physiotherapist, Sean Slattery, expects injured fast bowler Nuwan
Zoysa to be fully fit before the three-match Test series against West
Indies.
Zoysa, 23, suffered a stress fracture of his ankle in July, forcing him to
miss the Coca-Cola Cup, the Indian Test series and Sharjah.
Presently, the left arm seam bowler has started bowling in the nets, but
Slattery feels there's no need to rush him to play competitive cricket:
"Zoysa is alright now. There's no pain, no swelling and he has started
bowling in the nets. But he has to wait for another two weeks before taking
part in any competitive cricket."
Even if he is fit to play the selectors may prefer to wait until he has more
competitive cricket under his belt. A comeback during the triangular series
with Zimbabwe and West Indies is the most likely option.
Slattery will be with the Sri Lankan squad for a short while until Alex
Kontouri returns from his study leave in Australia.
