Netherlands and UAE record wins on day 2 of Six Nations

UAE and Netherlands notched up their second consecutive wins to go on top of the points table, while Scotland recorded their first victory of the tournament.

Feiko Kloppenburg led Netherlands to their second win in two games, scoring 52 and then taking 3 for 27 as Canada were humbled by 67 runs, their second defeat in the tournament. Riding on a 99-run first-wicket partnership between Kloppenburg and Bas Zuiderent (46), Netherlands managed 236 after being put in to bat at the Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium. In reply, Canada lost wickets at regular intervals and were never in the hunt. Kloppenburg capped off an excellent day in the field, scalping three of Canada's top five batsmen, while Tim de Leede took care of the tail.

Scotland 160 for 8 (Hamilton 40, van Rooi 4-40) beat Namibia 67 (Hoffmann 4-14) by 93 runs

Scotland bounced back after their defeat against Netherlands a day earlier, beating Namibia by a convincing 93-run margin. In a low-scoring game, Scotland managed just 160 after being inserted, with only Gavin Hamilton (40) resisting Namibia's bowlers. However, Namibia slumped from 28 without loss to 29 for 4, with Dougie Brown (3 for 17) striking three times. They never recovered from those setbacks, and were bowled out for 67 with more than half their total overs to spare.

UAE 246 for 5 (Khuram 103*, Maqsood 65) beat USA 245 for 6 (Massiah 92*, Lambert 57, Alexander 50) by 5 wickets with 4 overs to spare

Khuram Khan (103 not out) played the saviour for the second time in two days as UAE overcame a stiff challenge from USA, beating them by five wickets. Chasing 246 for victory, UAE slumped to 41 for 4 before Khuram, who had scored an undefeated 53 in UAE's first match, put together a matchwinning partnership of 159 runs with Syed Maqsood (65). Maqsood was dismissed with 46 still required for victory, but Khuram eased the team home, scoring his runs off just 104 balls. Earlier, Steve Massiah made an unbeaten 92 to lift USA to 245.
