New Zealand v Zimbabwe 1999

At Leeds, June 6, 7. No result. Toss: Zimbabwe. Miserable weather produced the only washout of the tournament. Both teams had to face at least 25 overs for a result, but New Zealand came off after 15 on Sunday evening, and Monday's rain never permitted a restart. New Zealand appeared to have missed out - Horne and Astle had hurtled to 58 in nine overs, though three wickets in 22 balls then persuaded Fleming to accept the offer of bad light. Earlier, in bright sunshine, Zimbabwe also set off at a dash, though three men were already out when the weather first intervened. Resuming, Goodwin and Campbell shared a steady 91-run stand, which ended immediately after the second rain-break. Allott took his tournament aggregate to 18 wickets as Zimbabwe tossed away their last seven for 39.
