Jamaica edged ahead of Trinidad and Tobago with first-innings points at St Elizabeth despite a thrilling last-wicket stand of 97 between Dave Mohammed and Amit Jaggernauth. T&T were in trouble at 139 for 9 before Mohammed and Jaggernauth took them within 18 runs of Jamaica's first-innings score of 254.

Resuming on 10 for 1, the visitors lost their way in the first over of the morning when Adrian Barath was leg before to Jerome Taylor and Jason Mohammed was out soon after. T&T's in-form batsman Keiron Pollard was then bowled by Jermaine Lawson for one, and his side had slipped to 18 for 4. Daren Ganga and Denesh Ramdin buckled down with a stand of 42 before Ramdin was out hooking to Daren Powell. Ganga was the next to go, throwing his wicket away after pulling to David Bernard at square-leg.

Mohammed and Jaggernauth frustrated the Jamaica bowlers with their last-wicket stand and fielding lapses didn't help. Mohammed was let-off thrice during his knock and he remained unbeaten on 74 when Jaggernauth was trapped leg-before to Tamar Lambert.

Leeward Islands ended the second day at St Maarten in a commanding position, with Windward Islands still trailing by 252 runs in the first innings with only five wickets in hand. Leewards rode on Austin Richards's 183 which took their total to 382, before the hosts stumbled to 130 for 5 at stumps.

Resuming at their overnight score of 213 for 4, Leewards lost two wickets within the first hour, as Runako Morton departed for 77 and Shane Jeffers for 9. Richards was in full flow, scoring 21 fours and three sixes in his knock and was dismissed just before lunch, pulling to fine-leg off Ezekiel Francis.

Windwards got off to a poor start when they lost Miles Bascombe with just one run on the board, edging to wicketkeeper Jason Williams. Adam Sanford, the West Indies seamer, struck two quick blows to reduce Windwards to 39 for 3. Andre Fletcher had to retire hurt after he was struck on the toe by a yorker from Sanford. Darren Sammy and Lyndon James resisted with a 62-run stand for the fourth wicket before Justin Athanaze dismissed James leg-before for 56. Sammy departed soon after for 35, caught at forward-short leg off Omari Banks. Rawl Lewis and Gary Mathurin were at the crease at stumps.

Barbados fell short of Guyana's first-innings score by 17 runs at Georgetown, despite Dale Richards's fighting half-century. At the close, Guyana had been reduced to 22 for one with Sewnarine Chattergoon dismissed cheaply for two.

Richards continued his good form from the previous match against Jamaica - in which he scored a century - striking nine fours in his knock. He added 75 for the third wicket with Floyd Reifer who scored 41. The pair batted positively during the second session before Reifer lost his leg stump to Jeremy Gordon for 41. He faced 71 balls, scoring four fours and a six and Barbados were still well-placed at 150 for 3. Richards was fortunate to be dropped twice - on 33 and 49 off Mahendra Nagamootoo, and at tea, Barbados were at 210 for 5. Nagamootoo finished with figures of 4 for 67 while Veerasammy Permaul claimed 2 for 51.

Ryan Hinds, the left-arm spinner, who took two wickets in successive deliveries to signal the end of Guyana's first innings, bowled Chattergoon with his first delivery in the second to claim a hat-trick.
