A lifelong Warwickshire supporter, Jonathon Webb graduated through the club's youth teams - apart from a couple of seasons which he spent with Worcestershire - and gained a cricket scholarship to Bromsgrove School. Initially unable to win a contract with Warwickshire, he instead took advantage of the MCCU system at Leeds/Bradford where he gained a degree in graphic design and played a handful of first-class games in 2012 and 2013.
After touring with a combined universities side and playing club cricket in Sydney, he signed a two-year contract with Warwickshire ahead of the 2014 season. He gained his first team experience in the T20 competition, winning selection ahead of Jonathan Trott, and was part of the team that won the NatWest T20 Blast at Edgbaston that season, making 50 from 33 balls against Derbyshire in one of the group games.
However, with openings limited, Warwickshire announced in June 2016 that he would be released at the end of the season and that he was free to pursue other opportunities immediately.
