Two years older than his more famous brother Clyde, Keith Walcott was an excellent cricketer and footballer in his youth, playing 15 times for Barbados as a right-hand middle-order batsman for a little over a decade from 1940-41. But he really made his mark as an administrator with boundless energy and commitment. He was on the Barbados Cricket Association board for 35 years, eight as vice-president, and was one of Barbados's representatives on the West Indies board for three decades. He was also a Barbados and West Indies selector and assistant manager of two West Indies teams to Australia.
