Off-spin bowler and middle-order bat. Made her senior international debut at 16 in the ODI Series against South Africa, taking a wicket. Laura also played in the World Cup in New Zealand in December 2000 and was a member of the successful England A team at the European Cup in 1999.
Laura returned England-best figures of 4-11 against India this summer and was one of England's leading wicket takers. Laura scored runs in all four of her Test match innings against Australia last summer (2001), averaging 25 and bowled consistently throughout the series.
Laura started playing aged eight and discovered spin bowling two years later. Played with Cornwall boys U-11s progressing to other age groups. Toured South Africa with them in 1997. Selected for England boys U-15 trial, but chose to play for Somerset in the Women's County Championship last year. Laura is studying for her A Level studies at Truro College, Cornwall.
