Ollie Freckingham had an impressive first full season on the Leicestershire staff, playing in all but one match and finishing the season as the county's leading wicket taker. He took 35 wickets, although the average cost - 44 runs apiece - could not disguise the fact that it was a difficult season for his county. A nine-wicket match at Northamptonshire included a career-best 6 for 125. He won the 1st X1 blwling award as well as being recognised as the best uncapped player.
Freckingham was part of the Leicestershire age group set-ups and is a sporting all-rounder, with golf and football leading the way. He joined the Leicestershire staff relatively late, at 24, after a number of impressive performances for the Second XI and for Loughborough Town in league cricket. Born in Oakham, he has been monitored by the county from U-10 level upwards and took 5 for 86 on his Second XI debut against a strong Durham Second XI in July 2010.
