United vs Gladiators, 18th Match at Rawalpindi, PSL, Mar 02 2024 - Ball by Ball Commentary

ABANDONED
18th Match (N), Rawalpindi, March 02, 2024, Pakistan Super League

Match abandoned without a ball bowled

6pm: The match has been called off due to persistent rain and a wet outfield

It has been bucketing down in Rawalpindi since morning and chances were bleak for the second game due to the soggy outfield. So, quite expectedly, it was on the cards, and the second match has also been called off without a ball being bowled. The ground has a lot of water on it and areas near the boundary rope are waterlogged as well. Even if the rain abates, it would take hours to make the ground ready for play. Hopefully, the Rawalpindi weather holds over the next few days

Here's the points table halfway through the tournament

Both teams have got one point each after the washout. Karachi Kings will lock horns with table-toppers Multan Sultans tomorrow at National Stadium, Karachi while PSL 9 action in the Rawalpindi-leg will now commence on March 4, with the match between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi

Hello and welcome to our coverage of the 18th match of PSL 9 between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators. Islamabad United managed to break the hoodoo and overpowered Karachi Kings by seven wickets after suffering three loses on the trot. Meanwhile, Quetta Gladiators won a heart-racing thriller against Karachi Kings on 29 February. That match kept fans on the edge of their seats but it was Sherfane Rutherford who stood tall against all challenges in the end and got his team over the line. It wasn't an unblemished performance from Quetta but they managed to held their nerve in the decisive moments
