Abrar perishes! Through the gate from from over the wicket, exposed his stumps and he is bang on target, hits the bottom of off-stump and Multan have won comfortably in the end by 13 runs, sharp contrast in both teams' death bowling
Sultans vs Gladiators, 11th Match at Multan, PSL, Feb 25 2024 - Match Result
Multan Sultans end their last home fixture with a victory! They were superior in the crunch moments and their seam bowlers were magnificent; Mohammad Ali, David Willey, and Abbas Afridi can be counted on to deliver the goods. Saud Shakeel, Khawaja Nafay, and Rilee Rossouw all got starts, but nobody could hang around for long enough to keep the asking rate in check. This Multan team only needs a sniff to get back in the game. Mohammad Ali was the standout performer again, picking 3/19, and his fellow bowling spearhead David Willey picked three vital wickets as well. The youngster Aftab Ibrahim didn't look nervous in his first game and held his end of the bargain while Abbas Afridi and Usama Mir played their roles well too. It would have been closer had any of those top batters taken it deep. Multan were able to dominate the last five overs while batting first and carried the momentum in the bowling as well
Mohammad Ali, Player of the Match: I try to improve my performance after each game and aim to minimize errors, just simple plan to target good areas and do what the situation demands. I'll give credit to four-day cricket, all our legends Wasim bhai, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Akhtar have become legends by playing four-day cricket which covers white-ball cricket and T20 as well. I'll miss Multan crowd's support and I hope they'll keep supporting us.
That wraps up the first of the double-header. The second game between Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi is almost an hour away, so we'll look forward to your company for that game. But for now, from Rvel Zahid, it's goodbye and thank you for joining us!
Holds his nerve and doesn't give him much leeway, good length and slanting in, following him and he backs away to steers behind square on off but can't connect
Bhu one: "You guys didnt post my comment when Reeza hit 72m six to get to 72. Now Mohhamad Ali's has bagged 13 tournament wickets when he had just given 13 runs in this match! Come on! 2 coincidences! Ya gotta post this."
That is a wonderful shot! Jockeys across on off and clobbers this length ball outside off way over deep fine, that is some shot! Smoked it!
swathi: "are there no overrate penalties in psl?" no overrate penalties so far
Pitched up and nipping away from middle, smashed off the bottom of the bat to long-off
Good length, slanting in at leg and he followed him as he backed away, can only plink it out to wide long-off
Hard length on middle, biffs it out to midwicket
Over the wicket, aiming for the yorker, misses the target only by a whisker though, full-toss on fourth stump line, makes room and throws his bat it, beats short third and it skittles away to the rope
Round the wicket, once again trying to get it under the bat, tough to get underneath these scorching thunderbolts, he shimmies to leg and lost his shape while forcing it long-off
Over the wicket, slung full on fourth stump outside off, makes room and swats it away to cover, can't beat the fielder, marvelous execution of yorker at death
Zingers are alight, continues to breathe fire! Zaman Khan and Mohammad Ali have shown exemplary display of yorkers in PSL 9, pinpoint accurate yorker tailing in and crashes at middle and leg stump, he tried to scoop it away but it was too good for thee
Full and fast in the blockhole, pushes it to long-on, Ali seldom misses his targets, remarkable bowling
Round the wicket, fuller length, veering in at middle, gives himself room and hits it on the up to long-off
Changes his stance on this slower back of a length ball at the stumps, Mohammad Ali drops a chance at short third, was definitely catchable, Ali swooped to his left and got his hands to it but then it just popped out
Round the wicket, brilliantly bowled, gets it right on this occasion, flips it full and it's reversing as well, he flings his bat out and cannot connect
That should be a no-ball, was flung high and wide of off, it is indeed a no ball Well above the waist height so easy call for the third umpire
Shimmies across off and guides the full toss to fine leg, scampering back for a brace
Slammed in shorter and offers plenty of width, latches onto it and thrashes it in the air over extra cover, Reeza puts in the dive and spills it
Dishes out a wide outside leg stump, wanted to scoop that away but it kept curling from his reach
Hold the pose! Slightly short on middle, he steps to the on side and then plays a delectable straight drive down the ground, beats long-on. Cool as a cucumber, Amir starts off with a bang
Yorker tailing away from off, spanked away to wide long-off, that won't bother Multan
