9.52pm: Brave get the victory over Rockets again, though it's small consolation for the champions, who are already out of contention (barring mathematical miracles). They had 51 from 50 balls, and had it all to do, but Alex Davies hung in there, Ross Whiteley struck some powerful blows, and then Tim David applied the finishing touches. Rockets are still well placed to qualify for the knockouts, after only their second defeat, but will need to win their final game against Welsh Fire to be sure. Anyway, that's a wrap for tonight; from myself, PDP and Thilak, it's cheerio!

Alex Davies is named Match Hero: "Won't go down in history as one of the best innings played, but had to get the boys over the line. [Key to victory?] Ross and Tim staying with me, I'm wearing the medal but without their knocks we don't win. Those partnerships really. We've not been great at home, but it's a hallmark of this team we fight until the end. Nice to get a win, sure there might be a few beers tonight."

4
Wood to David, FOUR runs

short ball, whacked through deep backward square leg for four! Brave win by six wickets, making light of their earlier travails to get there with a set to spare

94
2
Wood to David, 2 runs

pitched up and crunched in front of the cover sweeper for a couple to level the scores

93
6
Wood to David, SIX runs

ransacked high over deep backward square leg! Short of a length, pace off again, but dispatched with alacrity over the head of the man on the rope. This is almost done and dusted!

92
6
Wood to David, SIX runs

slower ball, sits up wide of off... butchered over deep extra cover! David clears the front leg and mullers a flat six into the boundary boards!

91
Wood to David, no run

good length ball, pace on in the channel and David dabbles at it and misses

Wood back to bowl the penultimate set

Decent set from Cook, and it leaves Rockets needing 15 from the final end

90
1
Cook to David, 1 run

pitched up and whipped leg side, Davies thinks about pushing for two - but is sent back

Ends a vital stand for Brave. Now, can Tim David finish this chase off?

89
W
Cook to Whiteley, OUT

hammered leg side, straight into the hands of deep midwicket! Struck it well but it's a long hit and Sams is there, steadies himself and then holds on as his feet slip from under him. Pressure catch, Rockets still in this

Ross Whiteley c Sams b Cook 30 (21b 2x4 1x6) SR: 142.85
88
2
Cook to Whiteley, 2 runs

short ball, Whiteley is off his feet heaving into the leg side. Deep midwicket has work to do and they come racing back

87
4
Cook to Whiteley, FOUR runs

smashed through backward point, Munro is out there but he slides on the wet surface and turns the ball into the rope for four!

86
1
Cook to Davies, 1 run

slower ball, clumped out towards wide long-on, Hales keeps them to one

Shamsi to Davies, 2 runs

hacked across the line, miscued into the leg side... but Hales can't get in from long-on, and they'll run two! Davies has fifty, from 42 balls, and suddenly Brave are in the box seat here

84
1
Shamsi to Whiteley, 1 run

dragged down slightly, muscled out towards wide long-on

83
2
Shamsi to Whiteley, 2 runs

slogged towards long-off, Hales can't get in for the catch but prevents it spinning past. Davies is already sprinting back up for a second, putting pressure on Shamsi, who doesn't collect cleanly

83
1w
Shamsi to Whiteley, 1 wide

tossed up wide, spinning away and Whiteley can't connect. Wide signalled

82
1
Shamsi to Davies, 1 run

skips down and chips towards long-on. Just a single

81
6
Shamsi to Davies, SIX runs

battered into the stands! Dragged down first ball by Shamsi and Davies connects, perhaps for the first time tonight, and plonks this several rows back at deep midwicket!

Shamsi for his final set. Brave need 36 from 20, and they have a puncher's chance

80
1
Sams to Davies, 1 run

back of a length and swung in the air out towards deep backward square leg. Can't be out, and he takes it on the bounce

80
4nb
Sams to Davies, (no ball) 2 runs

banged in outside off, Davies flails at it unconvincingly and chips down towards long-off for a couple. But Alex Wharf is again signalling no-ball! Possible too many men outside the circle, and Sams will have to bowl another

There's going to be a ball change here. Possibly the Kooka got mashed up when Whiteley hit it into the LED boundary boards in the previous over

79
2
Sams to Davies, 2 runs

slower ball, tucked around the corner and into a gap as two fielders converge

78
1
Sams to Whiteley, 1 run

full outside off, 81mph attempted yorker and Whiteley can only dig out into the covers
